The Weekend Mascara

Hello all! Long time no blog, I feel like I write that phrase all too often at the beginning of posts but this past month has been a whirlwind of both good and bad but I am well and truly back and am completely motivated to hop back into this little corner of the internet and get writing for you all. Now that that minuscule introduction and update is out of the way let's get on to what this blog post is all about: the Estée Lauder Little Black Primer. If you know anything about me, you'd know that I am a true minimalist at heart: my wardrobe is overwhelmingly monochrome, my everyday makeup is as basic and simple as can be, and I have a major love for white interiors (just take a look at my Pinterest). I'm all about that no-makeup makeup look as of late, especially on the weekends, and I have found the mascara that fits the bill.

The Estée Lauder Little Black Primer is touted as being a three-in-one: it can be used as an uber natural-looking mascara, a primer for your regular mascara, or a topcoat to increase the longevity of your mascara. I have tried it for all three purposes and I've got to say that all-in-all it lives up to the claims. While I do occasionally use it as a primer or a topcoat, I don't often find I need it for those purposes. I find I mainly use this little product as a natural-looking mascara. And when I say it looks natural, I mean it looks really natural. So if you're a big fan of super dramatic looking lashes 24/7 this is not the product for you (although you would probably like it as a primer or topcoat). I even hesitate to call it a mascara because it acts as more of a lash tint than anything. The brush acts as more of a lash comb than a traditional mascara wand and the tube deposits a relatively small amount of product, however that's exactly what it's supposed to do. It definitely gives the lashes a good dose of color while also defining them and giving some very subtle length and volume. This product is not necessarily for everyone but for those of you who love that no-makeup makeup look, I would give this a try.
