The Perfect Nude Nail Polish

If you're a regular around these parts then you are probably well aware of how dedicated I am to dark nail polishes. Winter or summer you can almost always catch me sporting a black cherry, forest green, or navy shade on my nails, but as of late I've had a change of heart when it comes to nail shades. I think it all started when I went nail polish-less for a good few weeks and I really enjoyed that natural nail look. However, I have never been able to find a good nude nail polish that doesn't look too brown, too white or too pink.

I love the idea of Essie Mademoiselle but it is just too sheer and looks like nothing on my nails. However, Essie recently released a collection of nail polishes that had previously been discontinued. One such polish was Birthday Suit, which is almost the exact same shade as Mademoiselle but a step up in terms of opacity. Obviously this is more of a nude for someone with pale skin and would pull more of as an extremely light pink for someone with a darker skin tone. But on me it is the perfect nude that doesn't make my hands look like mannequin hands. I find that 3 thin layers create a nice opaque color but even 2 coats creates a lovely, clean but manicured look.

What's your go-to nude nail polish?
