The Night Out Face
When it comes to the weekends I'm all for a good night in with Netflix, a bowl of popcorn, and an extensive pamper routine (blog post to follow). However, seeing as I'm a soon-to-be 20 year old in college, its important to break out of my granny ways every once and a while and go on a night out with friends.
This particular face of the night actually came about a month ago when I went to a concert with my boyfriend and some friends, I snapped a pic of all the products I was wearing and posted it on instagram and promised a blog post on all the deets (and now said blog post has finally arrived). The makeup lasted all night, which included a very packed venue and A LOT of dancing, so it's safe to say these are good products if you're looking for a look that's very long-lasting.
For my base I went for the Makeup Forever HD Foundation, which is just my go-to when it comes to special occasion makeup because not only is the finish very natural, yet relatively high coverage, but it also photographs beautifully due to the lack of SPF (no ghost face to be seen in any of the pictures I have from the night huzzah!). As for concealer, I stuck to my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, because it does a bit of everything: spots, dark circles, etc. For brows I used the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil, because I find that, although it is a pencil, it does a great job at holding the brows in place because of the waxy formula. On the cheeks I used my favorite blush, the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed, because it's super long lasting and I knew the color would go with any eyeshadow or lip color I chose.
On the eyes I put a bit of NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base all over to prevent any creasing from happening, and then I ran the Charlotte Tilbury Color Chameleon in Bronzed Garnet all over the lids, which is gorgeous for those of you with blue/green eyes because it is a very red/purple toned bronze. I then blended the shadow stick with my trusty MAC 217 brush, which I would recommend doing fairly quickly when using the Color Chameleon because it sets very quickly and won't budge after it sets. I put a bit of MAC Teddy Eye Kohl on my upper and lower lashlines and smudged it out for a bit of definition and then finished the eyes of with my favorite mascara, the L'Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara. As for lips, I didn't really want to wear anything to bold because the eyes were the focus, so I went for Benefit Benetint, for a nice rosy stain.
