January Favorites | 2015
Another month come and gone, seriously I swear 2015 is going to be done before we know it! I'm really excited to share my favorites with you this month because there's a lot of new stuff to show, and boy is it some good stuff. I think I'll start off with the two things that are rediscoveries in my makeup collection, one of them being the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation. I had a bottle of this about a year ago and loved it, but had to toss it around September because it was just getting a bit old, but recently I picked up a new bottle of it and I am absolutely in love with it, even more so than I was the first time I tried it. It's very much a lightweight foundation, but it does a really good job at covering up redness, and boy has my skin been red and angry this month *thanks dry winter air*. The only issue with this foundation is it doesn't come with a pump, but I think I can forgive it because its just so darn gorgeous on the skin.
The second rediscovery was the Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in RSVP. I've been keeping my makeup pretty basic this month (not a whole lot of eyeshadow going on) and this is perfect for those days (ahem pretty much every day) when I haven't gotten enough sleep and my eyes look super tired and a bit blah. The shade is a beautiful pinky champagne with a healthy dose of shimmer and because it is a cream formula it takes all of 2 seconds to apply.
I have been lusting after the Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt perfume ever since it launched back in the summer and when I got my Christmas money, it was the first thing to get on my shopping list. It's a really unique scent because it hardly has any sweet notes and it's very woody but somehow it's still light and feminine. While it is described as being more of a summer scent, I think it works beautifully for winter too.
As I mentioned before, my skin went through a bit of a rough patch (both figuratively and literally) this month because the air was so dry. Basically all of the moisture in my skin disappeared but I still got a few breakouts, which is really difficult to treat. The only thing that was really able to get my skin back to normalcy was the Khiel's Midnight Recovery Concentrate because it's incredibly hydrating, as it's an oil, but it sinks in very fast and doesn't make you feel too greasy. It also has some ingredients that help with stressed skin (including breakouts). Another great thing about this is the smell; I love putting this on before bed because the smell is so relaxing and calming.
Finally, is the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Candy Shimmer (05). I have raved about its lighter counterpart, Rose Shimmer (01) in tons of previous blog, but I have to say that Candy Shimmer takes the cake. I like that the color is a tad darker so it gives a bit more of a pink tint, but the formula is literally the exact same (obvs), and as I've said before: these are the best lip glosses for those of you that don't normally like lip gloss because they aren't sticky and are as moisturizing as a lip balm.
