At the beginning of the month the third season of New Girl was put onto Netflix so naturally I watched it all in about a week. I've always loved Zooey Deschanel's makeup, but I especially love how her makeup is done in the show, very gold shimmery eyes with tons of lashes. Inspired by her look I've been using the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad To The Bronze all over the lids with MAC All That Glitters packed on top. I used to not wear All That Glitters that much because I found it a bit too orange-toned for my skin but when used with the Maybelline Color Tattoo as a base all of the orangey-ness is pretty much canceled out.
Earlier this month I posted an ode to the John Masters Organics Sea Mist and I have honestly not gone a day without using it in my hair. It just creates that perfect après-beach look for the hair but without the crunch or crispiness that most sea salt sprays leave.
As much as the weather has indicated that it's still summer, I'm trying very hard to convince myself its fall and what better way to do that than with a statement berry lip? The Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 107 is the most perfect berry lipstick for fall because it can be worn as a statement lip color but it can also be rubbed into the lips with fingers to create a really nice stain, and it is matte so it will last for a really long time, even through all those Pumpkin Spice Lattes. To compliment that kind of statement lip I've been keeping my cheek color pretty simple and for that I always go back to MAC Tenderling Blush, which is a really nice light peachy pink color.
And last but certainly not least is the book that I have been reading for the past few weeks and it is #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso. I had heard a lot of people talk about this book and it really intrigued me so I picked it up in my local bookstore and have not been able to put it down. Basically Sophia Amoruso is the woman who founded the online store Nasty Gal, a company that she built from the ground up. Her story is pretty incredible and her writing is seriously hilarious, so if you need some serious motivation or just feel like reading a really inspiring story, you should check out this book.
