The Festival Face
Last weekend I went to Outside Lands Music Festival and it was AWESOME! (I mean I got about 20 feet away from the stage during the Arctic Monkeys' set, so I can officially die a happy girl). Of course being the makeup nerd that I am, quite a bit of thought went into my "festival face" not only did my makeup have to be long wearing but it also couldn't feel heavy because I hate the feeling of wearing heavy makeup for long periods of time.
As I was having a god skin day I decided to go for the lovely Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer and a bit of concealer where needed, and even though this tinted moisturizer wears pretty well I decided to use some of the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder all over the face to really lock things in. Since I was going to a festival I wanted to wear something bold and fun, so I decided to jazz up my eyes with the MAC Tan Pigment, which is a really nice rose gold color with a healthy dose of shimmer. I used the pigment with a wet brush and it gave the most incredible foiled look on the eyes and it lasted for a good 12 hours without any creasing! And of course no long-wearing makeup would be complete without the L'Oreal Shocking Extensions Mascara, my favorite waterproof mascara.
For cheeks I decided to use the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy, because, although it looks incredibly bright and scary in the pan, it gives the cheeks a really nice natural flush and it stays put throughout the day, which is hard to say about most blushes. There was no way I was going to wear a bold lip, because they simply require too much maintenance and I couldn't be bothered to touch it up, so no surprise I reached for my favorite lipgloss, the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Rose Shimmer. I also thought this was a good choice for the lips because it feels like a lip balm and it's in the perfect packaging to chuck in my handbag.
Have you gone to any music festivals this summer? What makeup did you wear?
