The Bronze Eye Basics

For me, a bronze eye never goes out of style, but they do get paid a lot of attention to during the warmer months. I'm all for this, I mean come on, who doesn't want to look like a bronzed goddess?! So today I've rounded up my favorites from the bronze eye department, and believe me it was hard to pick my favorites 'cause I've got a lot of bronze eye products floating around my stash.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Paint in Rich Russet
This product is relatively new to me but boy do I love it. Not only is the color a perfect bronze, not too cool toned nor too orange, but the formula is seriously fab. The liquid texture was a bit weird to me at first, but once I got used to it I loved how easy it was to apply. One would think, being a liquid eyeshadow that this would be crease city, but it is actually one of the longest-lasting eye products in my collection.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze
I've loved this eyeshadow for a good amount of time now and I don't see myself straying any time soon. The eyeshadow is incredibly long lasting and the color is very similar to the aforementioned Rimmel shade. I love the versatility of this eyeshadow because it can be used as a pretty light wash over the lid or it can be used as a base for other bronze eyeshadows.

MAC Teddy Eye Kohl
If your just starting to dip your toes in the bronze eye pool then may I suggest MAC Teddy eye kohl? Seriously, especially for all of you light-colored gals out there this liner does a helluva lot to enhance your eye color. It's a nice reddish bronze color with a hint of golden shimmer and it is easily one of the greatest eyeliners I have come across. A definite necessity in any bronze-eye kit.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in Bad Girl Bronze
I like to think of this as the souped up version of Teddy Eye Kohl. To get the obvious out of the way, it's almost double the size of Teddy but the color is also more intense, definitely more warm undertones and shimmer going on here. This is great as a smudgey eyeliner, but it can also be colored all over the lids and blended out as a sort of cream eyeshadow.

MAC Woodwinked Eyeshadow
Last but certainly not least is Woodwinked eyeshadow from MAC. I personally cannot wear this on its own because my fair skin makes it pull very orange, but when used with a base (like the Rimmel Shadow Paint or the Maybelline Color Tattoo) this comes off as the most perfect light bronze/deep gold color. I love this eyeshadow especially because of how intensely shimmery it is (it's almost metallic) and how it has a lot of dimension when it is blended all over the lid and into the crease.

What are your favorite bronze eye products?
