Now I know what you're thinking, why the hell are Hannah's ratty hiking boots featured in today's picture? Well I have an answer for that! Today's post is all about outdoorsy beauty and the makeup that I wear when hiking or doing other outdoors-related activities. I go hiking a lot especially during the summer months and although sometimes I go completely bare-faced, there are other times where I just feel like slapping on some makeup, minimal makeup that is.
As far as the base goes I stick to my favorite uber-light base, the Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer because it provides enough coverage to even out the skin and cancel any redness, it also contains SPF 20 which is essential if you are gonna be in the great outdoors (although I recommend using a higher strength SPF underneath makeup just to be extra safe). For brows the Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel is perfect for this kind of no makeup makeup look because it sets the brows in place while adding a good amount of color to make them look a bit more polished. Surprise surprise, on the eyes I just curled my lashes and used some of the L'Oreal Shocking Extensions Telescopic Waterproof Mascara, but if you have naturally dark lashes curling them would be enough. And finally on the cheeks I used the NARS Matte Multiple in Laos because the color is very natural and almost identical to my natural flush. You could also use this product on the lips if you need some color there as well. I normally leave the lips bare in terms of color, but I do use Burt's Bees lip balm to keep them soft and I think there is one with SPF, which is great because there is nothing worse than sunburned lips!
