My Summer Essentials
Summer is finally here and that means a new set of beauty products are being put into my everyday rotation. Most of these products are exclusively used in the summer months, but that doesn't mean they aren't incredible beauty bits.
Aquage Sea Salt Texturizing Spray
In the summer months I am all about getting that really beachy texture in my hair and this spray is great for creating that look. I've been using this spray for several years now and I absolutely love how it makes my hair a bit more messy and gritty (not in a gross way); it really does make my hair look like its just taken a dip in the ocean. The smell is also pretty incredible, it's salty and beachy but in the best way possible. You can use this in wet or dry hair.
Soap & Glory A Great Kisser Lip Balm
Especially when it's a beach day I don't like to wear any sort of lipstick, lip balm is plenty. I use this lip balm from Soap & Glory year round but it gets a lot of use from me particularly in the summer months because of the lovely peachy color and the incredible smell! Seriously if you love the smell of fresh peaches (who am I kidding, who isn't a fan of that scent?) then you will love this lip balm!
L'Oreal Shocking Extensions Waterproof Mascara
I'm a water baby, always have been, always will be and since I was a swimmer in high school I have done my fair share of testing different waterproof mascaras. I already love the formula and the effect of the original Shocking Extensions mascara but the waterproof version is on a whole other level. It lasts for ages (and believe me it's gotten the full rubbing eyes in the pool test), it holds a curl like no other, and it looks natural (no clumps here).
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Liquid SPF 70
If there's one thing I have a knack for it's getting sunburnt, and I'm talking Larry the Lobster status sunburn. The combination of ginger hair and incredibly pale skin doesn't exactly make me the prime candidate for soaking up the sun, but it does make a good candidate for picking some seriously high strength SPFs. I am pretty picky when it comes to SPF especially when I want to wear makeup over it because a lot of SPFs tend to feel very tacky and heavy on the skin but this one from Neutrogena does no such thing. In fact, once blended into the skin it feels like there is practically nothing on your skin. And of course the SPF is high and has both UVA and UVB protection.
Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Scrub
Summer is the time for limb-bearing ensembles and because of that the legs (especially mine) need a lot of tlc after the long amounts of time they spent tucked away from sight in jeans and other long pants during the colder months. I'm not hugely into fake tan, because really, who would I be fooling? But that being said, even though I don't fake tan I do like to use a good body scrub to get my legs looking as nice as possible. This one from Soap & Glory is great because not only does it smell incredible but it also does a lot to exfoliate and moisturize any skin you use it on.
