It's that time again for monthly favorites! June has been a whirlwind with the school year finishing, catching up with old friends, and moving houses, but despite all the craziness it's been a good month. I've also found some pretty awesome beauty bits this month and obviously that's what I'm here today to share with you.
Dr. Jart Water Fuse BB Cream
I wrote a full review of this BB cream, but the long and short of it is; I normally don't buy into the whole BB cream gimmick because, to me, they're just beefed up tinted moisturizers, but this one from Dr. Jart is pretty fab. This stuff is pretty much invisible once blended in, but still manages to provide a bit of coverage, enough to conceal a bit of redness and to even out the complexion. I love these kinds of bases during the summer because they aren't heavy at all and practically make you feel like there isn't any kind of makeup on your skin.
Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow in Pale Barley
I don't know if I can put into words how much I love this eyeshadow, in fact, it's fast approaching holy grail status (and believe me, with an eyeshadow stash like mine, that's saying something). I think the best way to describe this eyeshadow is MAC Patina but a bit more gold and shimmery. It's the perfect all over the lid wash of color, but it can also be packed on, which makes for a great nighttime look.
Butter London Kerfuffle
Normally I'm not the biggest fan of pastel nail polishes because I think they wash me out a bit, however I've discovered that those kinds of pale colors look good on the toes. Kerfuffle is an especially good pastel shade for the summer because although it definitely is pastel it doesn't look to Easter-y. It's a nice pale peachy pink, but it does one hell of a job at emphasizing a tan (which I certainly don't have).
NARS Laguna Bronzer
An oldie, but a goodie. NARS Laguna bronzer will always be a favorite of mine but I have found that I have particularly been getting a lot of use out of this month, not surprising seeing as its now officially summer. There is a bit of shimmer, but no worries, you won't end up looking like a disco ball if you use this on your face. I love this bronzer because it adds the perfect amount of warmth to the face, without making me look like an oompa-loompa.
MAC Teddy Eye Kohl
As you can probably tell from my last monthly favorites, I'm having a bronze eyeliner moment. Teddy eye kohl from MAC is a long time love for me but I have been getting a ton of use out of it especially this month. It looks great smudged along the lashline for subtle definition or colored all over the eye lid and blended for a bronze base for other eyeshadows to go on top. This is easily one of the best bronze eyeliners I have found because it's bronze without being too orange or red, which can make the eye area look tired and even a bit sickly.
What have been your favorites for the month of June?
