Shopping the Stash
Last week I wrote a post all about my tips to get out of a makeup rut and one of the things I mentioned was doing a bit of a shopping of the stash. I thought that for today's post I'd shop my own stash and show you all the products that have gotten lost in the depths of my makeup collection.
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
The Naked palettes are one of those things that you gotta have as soon as they come out, you use them religiously for a few weeks and then they get neglected. I am drawn mostly to the shades in the original Naked palette as they are much more bronze/warm toned, which is what I normally go for on an everyday basis. That being said, the taupey shades in the Naked 2 are gorgeous and not to be overlooked.
MAC Crosswires Lipstick
As we're moving into summer I find myself wanting to wear bright lipsticks more and more. I bought Crosswires last summer and fell in love with it but it definitely got neglected when the colder months came around. It's a gorgeous coral pink (although it looks very red on camera) that strikes a perfect balance between not being too bright or too nude.
Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer
Sometimes there are those products that don't leave you with a very good first impression so they just get shoved to the back of the makeup drawers, that is definitely the case with the Bobbi Brown creamy concealer. I am a huge fan of the corrector, but when I first tried the concealer I wasn't blown away, it was a bit thick, ever so slightly too light in color, and didn't live up to the expectations I had for it. However, I'm gonna give this one another shot and who knows, it might become my new favorite concealer!
NARS Kalahari Duo
I feel like because I have so many eyeshadows a lot of them don't get used very often and that is what happened with this lovely duo from NARS. The palette includes a shimmery medium gold color and a reddish brown, very similar to MAC Sable. These two colors look great together on their own or together and I will definitely try to fit this in with my summer makeup rotation, because let's be honest, who doesn't love a gold/bronze eye during the warmer months?
Sigma F40 Contour Brush
I used to use this brush religiously for blush and then I got the MAC 129, which replaced this offering from Sigma. It's a great brush both for blush and contouring and it is quite possibly one of the softest brushes I own. Especially since I've gotten more into contouring lately, I'll have to give this brush another go.
MAC Ladyblush Cream Blush
On a day-to-day basis I tend to stick to powder blushes because I find cream blushes to be a bit of a faff and that's why I haven't picked up this blush in a while. Ladyblush, from MAC however, is a great everyday color because it can pretty much go with any makeup look, not too pink or peach and it isn't too bright.
