May Favorites

I know this is just about the most clichéd thing to say, but how the hell is it practically June already?! This month seriously whizzed right by, but I'm excited for June because that means two very exciting things: 1. I'm going to be on summer break and 2. I'm moving into my new apartment (expect a blog post all about that once I get my room sorted out). Overall May was a pretty good month on the beauty front, I found some great new products and rediscovered some old loves.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed
Another month, another shade of the Tarte Blushes. I've been wanting Exposed for awhile and I finally got it around my birthday and boy am I glad I finally bit the bullet. I have been wearing this blush pretty much every day because it goes with everything! It's a perfect balance between a tan and a rose hued blush; think MAC Tenderling but with a bit more oomph. The color is amazing because while it definitely gives the cheeks a flushed appearance, it also does a bit of sculpting because it is slightly brown toned.

Nails Inc. Porchester Square
I won't harp on about this polish because I wrote a whole blog post love letter about it. The long and short of it is; this is quite possibly the best neutral I have come across. It's has a bit of grey, nude, and lilac in it, which is incredibly flattering and doesn't make my hands look washed out or weird, which I find to be the case with most other "nude" nail polishes.

Rimmel Scandaleyes in Bad Girl Bronze
I've spoken about these shadow pencils before but after a few months of not using this color a whole lot, I rediscovered this product whilst rummaging through my stash. Lately I've been using this more as a subtle smokey eyeliner rather than a shadow, but either way it looks great against blue eyes. It's slightly red-toned but not so much that it makes you look sickly. Another major plus is the lasting power, we've had some seriously hot weather where I live and this pencil really stuck around all day and didn't smudge or crease, big thumbs up.

L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes
After my new found mascara love, L'Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions (phew that was a mouthful) mascara had run out I decided to give another L'Oreal mascara a try and I was not disappointed with this one. It gives a healthy amount of length, good separation, and a whole lot of drama to the lashes. I think this is the nighttime version of the Telescopic mascara. Definitely a good one if you like the very lashy look.

MAC Patisserie Lipstick
I finally gathered up six MAC empties, took them into the store and got this lipstick for free as part of the Back 2 MAC program! Normally I'm not a big nude lipstick lover because it's hard to wear nudes when your skin is as fair as mine and your lips are as naturally pigmented as mine are. This lipstick is the exception, it really is a "my lips but better" color because it is basically my lips just slightly pinker/peachier. Since this lipstick is a lustre finish it feels incredibly comfortable and moisturizing on the lips, which makes it great for everyday wear.
