February Favorites

How is it already the end of February? I've been so busy this month that the time just seemed to slip right by. Sooner than we know it the spring edit posts will be flooding our bloglovin feeds, but in the time being I will share my favorite beauty products from the past month.

Kiehl's Skin Rescuer

My skin went through a bit of a roller coaster ride at the beginning of the year, it was super dry and sore but it was also breaking out -- not a fab combo. Anything that wasn't super gentle, literally made me feel like my face was going to fall off (lovely mental image huh?). Luckily I discovered this little skin savior this month! I love this moisturizer because 1. it seriously calms redness, 2. it's very moisturizing, and 3. while it is incredibly moisturizing it doesn't feel heavy and I can use it during the day.

The Tangle Teezer
I'm in the process of growing out my hair and although I am loving my slightly longer locks, I don't love how tangled they get. I DO NOT like to brush my hair because I feel like it damages my hair and it breaks up my natural curl, but I find that the Tangle Teezer doesn't do this. I can even use it on wet hair without it feeling like it's causing major breakage.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation

I've been umming and ahhing about trying out this foundation pretty much since it launched two years back. You all probably know how much of a fan I am of light bases, so this seemed like an obvious choice for me. So once my beloved Revlon Nearly Naked reached its last use I decided to finally give the Chanel offering a try. And was I disappointed? Absolutely not. It's a great combination of a light-weight texture with a good amount of pigment, thus giving decent coverage while still allowing the skin to show through. And an added bonus: it didn't cling to any of my dry patches, which is something I can't say about a lot of foundations.

L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Bronzed Taupe
I do love a nice subtle brown smokey eye, and boy is this the perfect shadow for that look! This shade is a nice mix of bronze and taupe (who would've thought?!) with a healthy dose of shimmer (don't worry, no chunky glitter or anything). The formulation isn't too shabby either, as it is super pigmented and glides on like a dream (watch out M.A.C eyeshadows, there's some new drugstore competition in town).

Bobbi Brown Corrector

February was midterms month for me and, of course, that meant very little sleep for this girl. I already have pretty dark under eye circles (that only stick out more because of my pale skin) and the mixture of late night study sessions combined with an unhealthy habit of staying up on my non-study nights till 2 am watching Law & Order: SVU, made my under eyes look that much more horrendous. Therefore, I needed an extra boost in the under eye concealing department this month. The color is perfect for canceling out any blue or purple tones, as it is very salmon-pink based and I find that the formula is really creamy but not cakey (something I can't say about its concealer counterpart (i.e. the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer)).

What were your favorites of the month?

xx Hannah

  1. I cannot find Bronzed Taupe in the drugstores in Canada. It is incredibly frustrating as I do see it around YouTube and blogs sometimes and every time, I fall in love with it a little more. It's so frustrating! xx

  2. I have a few of the Loreal shadows and absolutely adore their formula - they're amazing! We have different shades here in Australia, but I do own Tender Caramel which seems pretty similar. The Kiehl's Skin rescuer sounds like a wonder product, my skin is pretty good right now though so I don't think I have an absolute need to go check it out, that and I have a ton of backup moisturisers haha :)
