Battle of the Eyeshadow Primers
I've been a faithful user of Too Faced Shadow Insurance for about 4 1/2 years now, and don't get me wrong I love the stuff but every once and a while you just need to change things up a bit.
Now to be fair I have used NARS Smudge-Proof Eyeshadow base on other people and have seen just how well it performed, but I decided that since my Too Faced one was running out I'd give the NARS one a try and see how it performed on my oily-ish eyelids.
The other day I did a side by side comparison, applying the Too Faced on one eye and the NARS one on the other. Now to the everyday user, these two are very similar, but I definitely have a favorite, albeit for a few very subtle differences. I like the NARS one better because 1) it is completely clear, 2) the texture is better, and 3) it has slightly longer lasting power than the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. One of my main gripes with the Too Faced Shadow Insurance has always been with the texture, it has always felt slightly greasy to me, which I really don't like, and although the NARS one does feel slightly slippery when first applied (because of the silicones) it definitely dries quicker and feels much nicer. I think if you have oily eyelids the NARS one would suit you better, but if you have drier eyelids, the Too Faced one would be better. To each her own :)
